Knowing Bodies“Fusion! Artists in a Research Setting,” Regina Gouger Miller Gallery, Carnegie Mellon, Pittsburgh, PA, Aug. 22–Sept. 29, 2000. Sponsored by the STUDIO for Creative Inquiry. subRosa exhibited interactive sculptures, websites, video and print works. Constructa/vulva allowed people to playfully reconstruct a large soft sculpture of female anatomy. In so doing they not only learned the terminology and biology of women’s genitalia, they also directly participated in the idea of the reconstruction and deconstruction of the body. A video, Vulva De/ReConstructa, which critically examines genital "aesthetic" surgery, played in the gallery giving further information. Other works included the SmartMom and subRosa websites, product advertisement posters, subRosa publications, the Biotech Sex and Gender Workbook, Gene Pools, and MegaByte Tasties
